Studio 10 is getting a revamp!
Veteran reporter Angela Bishop and Travel Guides’ narrator, Denise Scott will join the Studio 10 family following the sudden departure of Ita Buttrose and self-proclaimed “crap housewife” Jessica Rowe.
The Network Ten entertainment reporter will make a brief debut today Friday, 27 April.
Angela says the unpredictability of live TV is thrilling and she can’t wait to start.
“I am so excited to join this amazing team,” Angela says of her new role.
“I love the idea of mixing the unpredictability of live television with my entertainment reporting from red carpets and hotel rooms around the world. I can’t wait to start.”
Denise Scott, meanwhile, gushes that her morning TV show dreams are finally coming true.
“I’ve always wanted to host a morning television show and now it’s happening at 63,” the comedian enthuses.
“As I always say kids, hang on to your dreams. If it doesn’t happen in your 20s, it’ll happen in your 60s”.
But don’t expect Denise to grace our screens every week. She will split her role with the co-host with whom she shares a name, Denise Drysdale.
And for Denise D, sharing a role with the comedian is an honour.
“I’ve known her and her work for years,” Denise D says. “She’s so funny and I love her — I’m just sorry we won’t be on at the same time.”
Studio 10‘s remaining hosts, Sarah Harris and Joe Hildebrand are thrilled with the new additions to their team.
“The only thing better than one Denise is two Denises,” Joe says. “And we’re happy to have finally won full-time custody of Ang.”
Sarah Harris adds: “I can’t wait to welcome Denise and Ang into our crazy TV family.”
Ita abrupt departure, which was announced only on Tuesday, has been marred with rumours of a behind-the-scenes feud with her former co-star Denise.
“I’ve really enjoyed being on Studio 10. We’ve all had a really good time,” Ita tells KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O.
“[But] I can’t really comment on Denise’s behaviour and I don’t really want to.
“Actually if it weren’t for me she wouldn’t have the job at all.”
Meanwhile, in an interview on HIT FM, Denise D admits she won’t miss Ita.
“I’ve got a big bag of Brussels Sprouts and nothing to do with them,” she jokes.
In light of her co-stars exits, Denise D adds fans can expect a different show but that things will go on as usual.
“The show as we know it is not the same anymore,” she declares.
“It’s a different show. You’ve got 2 totally different people who have gone, all adding to the difference to the show.
“But I’m sure we’ll pick up!”
