It’s the end of the line for Fiona and Nicole.
The Victorian besties, who never backed down from a fight, have become the second team to be eliminated from House Rules this season.
When they found out on tonight’s show that they’d received the lowest score in the 24-hour fix-up, Fiona got teary.
“I am the luckiest woman in Australia and Nic walked out of this competition with nothing,” she said.
“I walk out of it with a brand-new home. Probably for me the disappointment is I wanted to repay Nic.”
All season, Fiona and Nicole have been coming under attack on social media, following a string of confrontations with the other teams.
But Harry, from team SA, says he sometimes felt sorry for the girls during filming.
“It was a tough environment,” he tells TV WEEK. “It’s so harsh.
“If you’re not thinking, then your emotions get out. They obviously just weren’t thinking and Australia hates them now, which is unfortunate.”
“They brought it all on themselves. But I still feel bad for them.”
Harry says he’s been hearing about some of the things Fiona and Nicole have been going through lately.
“They’ve been spat on and can’t get a job because they look like bullies, so it is really, really tough for them.
“I’m not sure they would have done the show if they knew it was going to be this bad.”
Meanwhile, Ella from Team Tassie says she didn’t form a friendship with Fiona and Nicole, and she hasn’t stayed in touch with them.
But she’s heard media reports that Fiona is now too afraid to live in her house, and she thinks things have gone too far.
“No one wants anyone to be scared to live in their own home,” she says. “She’s not an awful person. I would still go and have a drink with her if I was in her home town. I think that people need to remember it is a reality TV show and not everything is as bad as it seems.
