The sun was nowhere to be seen at the annual Buckingham Palace garden party yesterday but the Duchess of Cambridge brightened up the dreary day in a canary yellow coat.

Kate looked dazzling in a round-neck Emilia Wickstead silk coat, paired with a cream Jane Corbett hat and large pearl drop earrings.

The Duchess seemed proud of her blossoming baby bump, clasping her hands under her stomach to show it off.

More than 8000 people attended the annual garden party.

It is the second year Kate has attended the garden party.

Kate told guests she was thankful for the cool weather because it was making her pregnancy easier.

Kate is due to give birth to her first child in July.

Kate chose a custom-made hat.

Kate spent most of the afternoon with her in-laws Charles and Camilla.

Kate also chose a summery colour for a children’s hospice visit last week.

The Duchess was a vision in peach.
