She may only be nine, but Spanish Princess Leonor is already settling into the public eye nicely!

When your mum is fashion icon Queen Letizia, it’s easy to get lost her in shadow, but Princess Leonor and her sister Princess Sofia recently showed the world just how adorable they are.

Princess Leonor, who is the heir to her father’s Spanish throne, enjoyed a rare public appearance at this year’s National Day in central Madrid.

Leonor got some invaluable practice as Spain’s next Monarch on the day greeting the thousands of well-wishers who were waiting to meet her.

The adorable royal was joined by her younger sister, Infanta Sofia, eight, as well as her parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.

The Princesses were on hand to mark the National Day in front of thousands of spectators and to preside over the military parade of over 3,400 soldiers.

Dressed in demure smock dresses with tights and ballet flats, the Princesses sported matching French braids and cardigans.

Their mother, Queen Letizia, 43, looked glamorous on the day wearing a custom made sapphire blue dress and blazer by Spanish designer Felipe Varela, whilst her husband King Felipe VI, 47, wore his traditional military uniform.
