Home and Away star Sophie Dillman has taken to her socials to share what it was REALLY like ”giving birth” on the long running soap drama.

Her character Ziggy welcomed a beautiful baby boy with onscreen (and in real life) partner Dean (played by Patrick O’Connor) last week on the show.

And boy was the labour and delivery believable, with Sophie acting out every contraction, every push and every emotion as her and Patrick got a taste of what their future may have in store (that is if they ever decide to have in real life children of their own).

In the post shared to Instagram, Sophie was all smiles with her hair style to presumably look like it was drenched in sweat from her labour and her makeup applied for a gorgeous natural glow.

She described the experience as ”magical.”

And honestly, watching the scenes play out on our televisions, we sure did feel the magic!

”Giving birth is magical,” Sophie wrote.

”Shout out to the cast and crew on this day. One of my favourites ever on set.”

The 29-year-old actress then went on the tag her makeup and hair artists to thank them for making her feel her best during her faux labour.

”@paddy.oco @hil_brooks_mua can you be on standby if I ever actually give birth so I can look this pretty?”

Loved up co stars Sophie and Patrick aren’t the first actors on the show to fall on love whilst filming, the pair following in the footsteps of Bec Hewitt (nee Cartwright) and Beau Brady, Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds, Chris Hemsworth and Isabel Lucas and married couple James Stewart and Sarah Roberts.

Unlike many of their Home and Away alumn however, our love birds actually met long before stepping into the fictional Summer Bay, meeting at university years prior to their characters colliding on screen.

All loved up!

”We were friends then [at uni],” Sophie told The Morning Show in March 2021.

”And then we were in different years, so we didn’t really see each other – but then we found each other on the show. And conveniently, our characters got together on the show.”

Although a baby isn’t on the cards just yet, we are sure the happy couple will enjoy being fake parents on TV.
