When news broke former Neighbours star Tim Robards was returning to our screens, to say we were excited would be a slight understatement.
So upon learning his new project was a short film with Home And Away stars Sophie Dillman and Patrick O’Connor, we’d officially hit jumping-out-of-our-skin-level excitement.
Sherbrooke Down: The Road To Cataract is a short “proof of concept film” designed to “promote the feature film Sherbrooke Down, currently under development.” A film within a film, if you like.
The synopsis reads: “1901, New South Wales in 1901. When independent brickmaker and family man Matthew Keene gets bad news about a desperately needed contract, he is oblivious of those who want worse for him.”
Earlier in the month, OG Bachelor Tim shared the first behind-the-scenes glimpses of the project on his Instagram with a series of short videos from set.
“Just taking a look around set,” Tim began in the short video.
“This is the scene of the crime tomorrow. Going to have a fight and throw Paddy out that door. Hopefully no one will get injured.”
A teaser clip for the short film confirms Patrick O’Connor will be playing the lead role of Matthew Keane, while Sophie Dillman will play what we presume will be his wife, Evangeline, and Tim a character named Mace.
This is Tim’s first gig since leaving his role as handsome businessman Pierce Greyson on Ramsay Street last year to be present for the birth of his daughter Elle with wife Anna Heinrich.
Sophie and Pat meanwhile, are still playing their beloved Summer Bay characters Ziggy and Dean.
With filming underway we take a sneak peek at some behind-the-scenes snaps captured by photographer and cinematographer Bobby Kidd of Mister Kidd Productions and they’re sure to elevate those excitement levels above and beyond.

We’e not surprised Sophie managed to get these adorable cherubs cracking a smile.
“So grateful to be able to work at the moment… and being able to get a little rough and dirty with this character, Mace… he’s a bit of a scary chap… think he’s got something to prove 😅,” Tim wrote of his character.
