Sam Frost and Tim Franklin’s Home And Away characters Jasmine and Colby have had a few on-screen trysts since joining the show.
No matter which direction their characters are pulled, whether it be Jasmine’s tragic loss of husband Robbo (Jake Ryan) or Colby’s ill-fated romance with Chelsea (Ashleigh Brewer), the duo always gravitates back to one another.
And it seems the reality for Sam, 31, and Tim, 29, may not be too different.
In news that would delight any fan, the duo’s chemistry on-screen has reportedly translated into a real-life romance.
“They’ve been seeing each other in secret for months, but Sam’s wanted it kept on the down low after the horrendous split with Dave [Bashford] last year,” a show insider tells Woman’s Day.
“She’s smitten, and she really wants them to be the next big TV couple.”
The former Bachelorette star confirmed she’d split from Dave earlier this month.
Taking to her TikTok account Sam shared a video parodying the “couple challenge” which had gone viral, adding a not-so-subtle hashtag: “31singleandfabulous”.
A representative then confirmed the news in a statement for the actress: “Sam Frost and Dave Bashford are no longer in a relationship. They remain great mates.”
Chatting to New Idea in 2018 when both Sam and Tim’s characters made their Home And Away debut, the 31-year-old spoke of their blossoming friendship.
“We became really good friends, really quickly,” she revealed.
Reflecting on their initial on-screen romance and first kiss, Tim confessed he was anxious.
“I was too nervous to really register the first time we met [that we would kiss],” he admits.
“But once we started working together and finding our feet, it was so good. You were my first on-screen kiss!”
There’s no denying the pair would make for a gorgeous couple, so much so it almost shouldn’t be allowed.
