Her Majesty is attempting to head off a showdown with her grandson Prince Harry ahead of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations by coming to a “major compromise”.

Harry, 37, who recently launched a lawsuit against his 95-year-old granny’s government over their refusal to provide royal protection to him and his family when they’re in the UK, may reportedly get his way – but it comes with conditions.

“The Queen is willing to come to the table and find a way to keep Harry happy, at least temporarily,” says a source.

“She’ll try to sort out temporary royal police protection for Harry if he comes home for her jubilee celebrations in June – but only if he brings his two children.

“She is desperate to meet his daughter Lilibet in particular, who’ll be one by then and was of course named after the Queen, and she feels that could be her only chance.”

But Harry, who’s supposedly earned a reputation for being demanding among courtiers, isn’t done with his list of requests yet.

“Harry will likely accept the offer of temporary protection in exchange for the Queen meeting Lilibet, but his fight hasn’t finished yet,” claims the source.

“Where the jubilee is concerned, he wants a guarantee that both himself and his wife Meghan will be awarded jubilee medals alongside the rest of the family – which is ruffling feathers, given Meghan was only an official royal for 18 months.

“But beyond that, Harry still intends to fight for permanent security. Moving back to the UK isn’t out of the question in the future but he won’t do it if his kids are at risk.”

Our insider claims Harry’s also petitioning for another home base in the UK, now that the Sussexes are sub-leasing Frogmore Cottage at Windsor to his cousin, Princess Eugenie, 31.

“They never felt comfortable there as it was too exposed for their liking, right in the middle of Windsor Great Park,” says the source.

“If Harry’s to come home more often he wants something way more secure. The Queen certainly has a lot of thinking to do.”
