What it’s really like to be royal

3,379 letters written, hundreds of official engagements and thousands of air miles - new report shows what life is like for Prince Charles and Camilla.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall annual review for 2015 has been released, revealing what life is like for the British Royal Family.

In 2014-15, The Prince of Wales undertook a total of 612 official engagements, of which 124 were overseas, and The Duchess of Cornwall undertook 224 engagements, of which 67 were overseas. That’s 724 engagements in at least 10 countries between the two of them, or 13 a week!

The Duke and Duchess received 43,036 letters and cards from the public, and personally responded to 3,379

Prince Charles raised more than AUD $291 million (£143m) in charities including The Royal Drawing School and Dumfries House.

Expenditure on official duties and charitable activities totalled AUD $19.2 million (£9.4m). They also paid AUD $10.2 million (£5.1m) in taxes.

Meanwhile The Duchess of Cornwall worked with charities to shine a spotlight on issues such as literacy, health and animal welfare, as well as supporting victims of sexual abuse, the report says.

Our favourite fact: In November 2014, The Prince of Wales took part in his first Google Hangout!

Wine, perhaps?

Another interesting tidbit that the report revealed was just how much Prince William, Duchess Kate and Prince Harry spend on a yearly basis.

Aside from the salaries earned from their day jobs ($61,000 for William, $60,000 for Harry) just over £2.9 million ($6m AUD) million is giving to them by Prince Charles.

This covers the entirety of their spending, including housing, official engagements, wardrobes, hospital stays and day-to-day expenditure.

This was a $60,000 increase from last year despite their more frequent travel.

Thanks, dad!
