Welcome to Australia Charles and Camilla!

This afternoon Prince Charles and The Duchess of Cornwall touched down on Australian soil for the second leg of their Antipodean trek.

At the breakneck speed royal watchers have come to expect from the Prince of Wales, the couple will take in three states and one territory in six days on the Prince’s 15th visit to Australia and the Duchess’s second.

The theme for this tour is community, culture and conservation and the Prince will be revealing his own contribution to our community through the work of his relatively new body The Prince’s Charities Australia.

Barossa Valley residents will be the first to see the couple in Tanunda and Seppeltsfield and Premier Jay Weatherill encourages members of the public to head to Tanunda Town Square to catch a glimpse of Charles and Camilla on the first stop of what promises to be an interesting tour.

“I’m pleased we’re hosting Their Royal Highnesses during the first stop of the Australian leg of their tour,” he said. “It’s the first time in three years the royal couple has visited South Australia and I look forward to showing them how much our great State has advanced in the time since they were last here. They will meet local artists and community groups as part of a celebration of the region’s artistic and cultural heritage while in Tanunda.

“The Royal couple will then experience some of our world-renowned premium food and wine from our clean environment at a showcase at the Seppeltsfield winery.”

The Prince of Wales will also visit Bowden, where he will view the site of the Prince’s Australian Terrace and learn more about the State’s push to become the nation’s first carbon neutral city.
