Itโs an unsaid rule that you have to take royal Lifetime movies with a grain of salt, but thereโs one person who is not happy with their portrayal in the latest flick, Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal. No prizes for guessing who.
You guessed it, Duchess Meghanโs estranged father Thomas Markle has put in his two cents about the new movie declaring it โdumb fiction.โ
The film focuses on the royal couple, played by Charlie Field and Tiffany Smith in the lead up to the 2018 royal wedding and of course it addresses those paparazzi photos that Thomas Markle reportedly staged ahead of the big day.
But according to TMZ, the former lighting director has labelled the film as โawful and chock full of made up cr*pโ.
โIโm incredibly disappointed in how the flick portrayed us in the run-up to the royal wedding and feel personally attacked by the network,โ he told the publication.

The film, which is a sequel to Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, aims to get into โthe real human emotions of the story,โ says screenwriter Scarlett Lacey.
โWe werenโt just interested in the tabloid aspects. These characters are real people living in extraordinary circumstances at a crucial time in history.โ
In the trailer, we even catch a glimpse of Thomas Markle played by Bruce Blain as Tiffany Smithโs Meghan tearfully tells him, โDaddy, you did stage those photos.โ
In another emotional moment, we hear Meghan say, โIf I donโt speak up before the wedding, the world is just gonna see me as a girl in a dress. I have to start living up to the person I want to be,โ Meghan says in the trailer.

Thomas Markle famously pulled out of his daughterโs wedding following the staged paparazzi photos scandal but then changed his mind and decided he would like to attend the wedding after all. However, the 74 year-old was forced to undergo emergency heart surgery to โclear blockagesโ and โrepair damageโ after suffering a heart attack in the lead up to the wedding.
Earlier this year, five of Duchess Meghanโs close friends spoke to PEOPLE magazine claiming that Thomas never once tried to reach out to her via phone or text.
โThe next morning when the car got there [to take him to the airport], he wouldnโt get in. [Later] Meg heard he had a heart attack and sheโs calling and texting, even up to the night before the wedding. It was like, โPlease pick up. I love you, and Iโm scared.โ It was endless.โ
But despite the happiness of the big day and Prince Charles stepping in to walk her down the aisle, Meghan penned a heartbreaking letter to her dad to tell him how she felt afterwards.
โSheโs like, โDad, Iโm so heartbroken. I love you. I have one father. Please stop victimising me through the media so we can repair our relationship.โ Because every time her team has to come to her and fact-check something [he has said], itโs an arrow to the heart.โ
