Christmas with the Cambridges! Here’s what William and Catherine have in store for their royal brood

If there’s anything we’ve learnt about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, it’s that they may be more relaxed than older royals but they certainly don’t do anything in halves – especially Christmas.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge want their kids to have a normal upbringing.

William, Catherine and their two children Prince George, two, and Princess Charlotte, seven months, will be spending the festive season at their country home Anmer Home, about a 10 minute drive away from the Queen’s Sandringham Estate – the traditional hub during the festive season.

Sources told The Mail on Sunday that the mum-of-two is doing away archaic royal traditions and going all out for a memorable Christmas at home with her side of the family and her little ones.

Friends explained to the the British publication that Prince George is obsessed with all the sparkly tinsel his mum has bought for the house after she reportedly spent hundreds of pounds of decorations.

“Kate has gone all out and there’s a lot of glitter, sparkle and Christmas cheer. She wants it to be great fun for the kids,” an insider spilled to MOS.

And although the Cambridges will attend the royal Church service at Sandringham in the morning as per tradition, Catherine and William are opting for a more Middleton-esque Christmas.

“There is nothing formal or stuffy, it’s all rather over the top and good fun. The Middletons always go OTT, and Kate and Will are following suit,” the insider mused.

This includes presents too, with the royal parents reportedly purchasing their beloved kids a bespoke oak see-saw with their names engraved on it, while Prince William also picked up a vintage train set for George.

The report also claims Prince Harry has been invited to the very Middleton Christmas. It’s believed Michael Middleton will dress up and Kate’s brother James has organised games for the evening.

It’s not just the festive season Catherine and William are focused on though, the royal parents are looking forward to 2016 after announcing the nursery school Prince George will be attending in the New Year.

Westacre Montessori School, where prince George will attend nursery next year.

The two-year-old future King will be a pupil of Westacre Montessori School in Norfolk as of January.

The alternative-style school, which focuses on play just as much as academics, is located close to Anmer Hall, indicating that Catherine and William will continue to use that as their main home instead of Kensington Palace in London.

Prince William was the first royal to attend a Montessori school after Princess Diana insisted that both her children had a normal upbringing and it seems the Duke and Duchess are following suit.

Westacre is also affordable at just £33 per day to attend, a far cry from other nursery schools in London.

The school released a statement about their famous new student, “We are looking forward to welcoming George to our nursery where he will get the same special experience as all of our children.”
