Royal Selfie To Be Official Prince George Portrait?

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge look set to defy royal tradition by using a personal photo of Prince George and themselves, taken at the Middleton family home, as their official family portrait.

Traditionally, the royal family would hire a professional photographer to take the first official portrait of Prince William, Kate and newborn George.

However, reports suggest that the Duchess might insist on taking her own intimate snaps of her new family.

These royal selfies would then be released on social media platform Twitter, or the couple’s website, as soon as next week.

“The whole point of these photos is that as many people have access to them who need to and we will find the easiest way of doing that,” a royal source told People magazine.

Kate and George have been staying at the Middletons’ home in Berkshire, 90kms west of London, since William returned to work with the Royal Air Force at the beginning of August.

While Will and Kate are very respectful of family traditions, this isn’t the first time the couple have gone against royal customs.

Since the birth of George, the couple have refused to hire housekeeping staff or a full-time nanny.

Instead, the loved-up couple are savouring the chance to be hands-on parents, happily carrying out mundane tasks like nappy changing and grocery shopping.
