Her Majesty was greeted by sailors during her visit to HMS Lancaster at the Portsmouth Naval Base.
The Queen, who is the ship’s sponsor as the Duke of Lancaster, inspected a guard of honour comprising 34 members of the 170 crew.
Looking lovely in a light blue coat and matching hat, the 88-year-old royal smiled and chatted with sailors.
She then had a private lunch on board and spoke to crew members about the ship’s deployment to the North Atlantic and Caribbean Sea last year.
