She’s one of the most stylish and fashion-forward European royals.
So it’s little surprise Princess Charlene of Monaco, 42, has decided to mix up her classic blonde cropped hairstyle with a bold new look.
The mother-of-two debuted an edgy new hairstyle when she attended the annual Christmas present handing out and Christmas tree ceremony at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco on Wednesday December 16, showing off a shaved undercut on one side of her head, which were teamed with darker locks.
The former Olympic swimmer’s left side of her head was shaved from her ear to around the back, while the right side remained long and brushed over her head.
Meanwhile her usually light blonde tresses had been dyed a deep golden blonde and broken up with bright highlights.
Charlene’s playful new hairstyle was complemented with a patterned bomber jacket, a black sequinned turtle-neck and a sparkly face mask. She opted for a dramatic smokey eye and accessorised her look with gold hoop earrings.
Earlier in the day, Princess Charlene and her husband Prince Albert of Monaco were joined by their two children, twins Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, both six, for the christening of a boat.
At the event, the royal donned a beret over her punk-inspired new do.
“The baptism of the maritime police boat. Named Princess Gabriella. Congratulations my baby girl,” Charlene penned on her Instagram account alongside a sweet family photo next to the boat.
Charlene has been known to experiment with her looks and earlier in the year showed off a chic micro-fringe. In June, she showed off a unique braided up-do to mark the annual St John’s Day Festival.
The Monaco royals have recently started to emerge for public gatherings again after remaining in lockdown for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In fact, the family themselves were affected directly by the virus, with Prince Albert testing positive back in March. He has since made a full recovery.
