Prince William shows off his dorky side during dance lesson

There is no pressure, because I will look ridiculous.

If there’s one thing we in Australia love most about the British royal family it’s that they share our national ‘have a go’ attitude.

It’s not that unremarkable to see Prince Charles donning an outlandish hat, or Prince Harry taking part in a silly game all for the sake of an event, and Prince William’s recent dorky dancing was no different.

The 34-year-old Duke of Cambridge stepped up to a dance challenge while visiting a youth center in London on Wednesday.

The royal was game when a few teens from the Scariofunk Dance Collective tried to show the future king some swish moves, but the nature of the dance wasn’t that easy for the father of two to master.

“I can never get the shoulder shiver right!” William joked to his young teachers.

While the choreography proved tricky the relaxed royal was a good sport and said he wasn’t scared of looking a little silly.

“There is no pressure, because I will look ridiculous,” William quipped.

After dancing the prince continued to take his tour around Caius House in Battersea which is one of London’s largest youth centers that provides a safe place for kids to let loose and encourage their creativity.

During his visit the prince also enjoyed a spot of baking and observed some drawing, but politely declined a boxing match up with 12-year-old Dante Morgan.

“I’ve left my gloves at home,” William joked with the young athlete.

It was William’s first public outing since returning from Balmoral, Scotland, where he had been holidaying with his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
