Prince William reveals that since starting a family with wife Catherine, he realises “how precious life really is” and worries he may not see Prince George and Princess Charlotte grow up.
“[Having kids] puts it all into perspective, the idea of not being around to see your children grow up,” he explained in an emotional interview with British TV personalities Ant and Dec.
And William, 33, knows all too well what the reality of life without a parent is like, tragically losing his own mum Princess Diana in a car accident in 1997, when he was just 15.

In the new interview, William says he has become more emotional about world events since the birth of his children.
“I never used to worry or get too wound up about things,” he says. “Now, the smallest things, you well up a bit more and get affected by the sort of things that happen around the world, as a father.”
The future king paid tribute to Princess Diana and Prince Charles for opening up his eyes to what’s happening around the globe – and hinted that George, 2, and Charlotte eight months, can expect the same treatment.
“I remember my mother and father taking us to charities and organisations and showing us what goes on. And I think seeing such a broad spectrum of life is really important to give you perspective,” he says.
“You don’t just live in a palace, you get out and see what goes on in the real world.”
Diana would take William with her on royal charity visits.
