The royal couple’s flirty exchange comes amid growing reports they plan to modernise the monarchy and establish a new direction for the royal family once William is king.

“Kate and Wills are determined to rip up the royal rulebook and want to be more approachable, less formal and less stuffy,” reveals a palace source, adding that they’re determined to develop “the Cambridge way”.

“It’s not a criticism of the past but an acknowledgement that they need to move with the times – they’re determined to create a healthy balance of openness, while maintaining the sense of mystery that surrounds the royal family.”

The future King and Queen Consort have certainly appeared approachable during their latest public engagements. Most recently, they delighted royal observers at Wimbledon.

During day nine of the tennis championships, the Cambridge couple appeared in the Royal Box to watch as Serbia’s Novak Djokovic won against Italy’s Jannik Sinner in the men’s singles quarter final match.

Catherine stunned in a blue pleated Alessandra Rich dress with white polka dots, complete with white pump heels, Mulberry bag, and baroque pearl drop earrings.

As she is known to recycle her fashion, it’s no surprise that we’ve previously seen the duchess don the stunning number during the Jubilee Big Lunch just last month.

Not to be missed was her green and purple bow tie bin which signifies her status as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis club.

Meanwhile, Prince William complemented his wife beautifully with a light grey blazer, baby blue button up shirt and navy tie.

Also in attendance to the match were Catherine’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, who were seated to the Cambridges’ left in the royal box.

During the match, the Duchess of Cambridge was spotted blowing a kiss to her parents as they took their seats.

Later, during the men’s singles final, their eldest son Prince George joined his parents in the Royal Box for his Wimbledon debut.

He looked like a proper little gentleman in his navy blue suit as he watched the tournament, but it was a moment caught behind the scenes that had fans smitten.

Footage from the moment Kate and her son arrived at the tennis event showed the duchess in full mum mode as she introduced George to key figures at Wimbledon.

Dressed in matching navy ensembles, the mother-son duo made quite the adorable pair as Duchess Catherine led her son through shaking hands and making small talk with several officials.

The eight-year-old royal did a wonderful job, looking much like his dad as he stood tall with his hands at his sides between each introduction.

But he let his boyish glee shine through as he watched the matches with his parents, cheering and grinning as he pointed out key moments to his parents.
