The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry visited the Tower of London to see the large collection of red poppies on display to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I.
About 120,000 ceramic poppies have so far been planted around the historic building, but more will be added until there are 888,246 — one for each of the British and Commonwealth soldiers killed in the war.
Called ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’, the art installation was created by ceramic artist Paul Cummins.
Each of the royals took a moment to place one of the poppies in the ground as they were guided through the display by General The Lord Dannatt, Constable of the Tower of London.
