Prince William makes an important announcement about the future of his family

The royals are on the move!
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with prince George and Princess Charlotte

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are saying goodbye to their Norfolk home and moving back to London to increase their official work on behalf of the Queen.

In a statement released by Kensington Palace outlining the family’s plans for 2017, it details Prince William will finish his work with the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) mid-year.

Now that the Queen has stepped down as patron of 25 charities, the Duke and Duchess are looking to increase their royal workload, as well as their involvement in causes they support, and their move to London couldn’t come at a better time. Prince George is due to start school in London in September, and Princess Charlotte is due to join him in just a few years.

Apartment A 1 at Kensington Palace will be the new home for the royal family, joining neighbours Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie in the historical building. Kensington Palace was famously Princess Diana’s home, and was where Prince William and Prince Harry grew up.

The Palace, located in the London suburb of Kensington, is the ideal location for raising a young family, with the abundance of parks and landmarks within walking distance. The Duchess has even been spotted at the local high street shops, just a short stroll away from the royal residence. Surrounded by posh suburbs, such as Notting Hill and Belgravia, the outgoing couple will have no trouble blending in with the neighbours.

The move back to London will also allow the young family to spend more time with the Queen, who will no doubt enjoy the extra time with her great-grandchildren.
