The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were welcomed by thousands of locals today at Hamilton and the town that shares their official name – Cambridge.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were welcomed by thousands of locals today at Hamilton and the town that shares their official name – Cambridge.

The royal couple arrived at Hamilton Airport this morning before splitting up for separate visits during day six of their tour.

Prince William spent the morning at Pacific Aerospace, a Hamilton-based aircraft manufacturer, while the Duchess of Cambridge visited Rainbow Place at the Children’s Hospital where she attended a Mad Hatter’s tea party.

Kate looked demure in a green Erdem coat and black pumps.

During the afternoon, the Duke and Duchess paid their respects by laying flowers on a war memorial at Cambridge’s Town Hall, before the grand opening of Cambridge’s velodrome, Avantidrome, which was officially opened by Prince William.

The pair will fly back to Wellington to be with Prince George on Saturday evening.
