Earlier in the day, Prince William and Duchess Catherine were pictured arriving in Oslo from Stockholm for the next leg of their Scandinavian tour.

Although delayed due to extreme weather conditions, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were greeted by Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit after their private chartered plane landed at a snow-covered air force base near the Norwegian capital โ€” luckily, a sturdy red carpet was rolled out for the royal arrival!

Kate, who is nearly seven months pregnant with her third little prince or princess, braved the subzero temperatures โ€” if only for a moment โ€” in a cornflower blue Catherine Walker coat, black heels, and a Seraphine dress. She pulled her hair back into a low chignon, perhaps as a way of combating the falling snow.

The royals endured the inclement weather for a matter of moments before shaking hands with dignitaries and making their way into a waiting car.

A veritable winter wonderland!

The royals seemed undeterred by the falling snow.

King Harald V of Norway and his wife Queen Sonja then formally welcomed William and Kate to their country with a lunch at the royal palace, where the duo are staying as guests of the sovereign. Itโ€™s understood they are staying in the โ€˜King Haakonโ€™s Suite,โ€™ which is rumoured to be the finest guest room in the palace.

Following lunch, the royals stepped back out into winter wonderland โ€” Kate, armed this time with a cosy fur hat and matching gloves โ€” for a tour of the Princess Ingrid Alexandra Sculpture Park within the palace gardens. The stunning space was opened last year and is named after the daughter of the Crown Prince and Princess.

A crowd of hundreds had gathered to catch a glimpse of the visiting royals as they made their way to the park, and Kate and Wills seemed more than happy to oblige their requests for a quick walkabout.

They accepted hugs, tulips and childrenโ€™s books for their two little ones โ€” Prince George and Princess Charlotte โ€” who are no doubt eagerly awaiting the return of their doting parents.

One woman gave Kate a knitted hat in the Norwegian colours of red, white and blue.

โ€œItโ€™s just something from Norway,โ€ said Henny Elisabeth Annell, 50, of the gift. โ€œI thought the prince might need it.โ€

And she was right โ€” the prince didnโ€™t have a suitable hat for the weather!

In the evening, the Cambridges are expected to attend a dinner at the royal palace hosted by the King and Queen and attended by members of the government, business leaders and the Norwegian creative industries. They will be the eveningโ€™s guests of honour.

We have to admitโ€ฆ it looks rather chilly out there!

Despite the weather, the beloved royal couple were all smiles as they carried out yet another jam-packed day of activities.

The royalโ€™s jam-packed day follows an evening at the Fotografiska Gallery in Stockholm โ€” an event designed to cap off their short visit to the nation.

The Duchess dazzled in a frock by London-based designer Erdem for the occasion.

The velvet number had eagle-eyed fans wondering if she could be sending a subliminal message about the gender of her third baby, with many pointing out the blue hue could be a sneaky clue sheโ€™s having another boy.

Showing how to reign in the style stakes, Kate kept her make-up simple, teamed with a soft bun, a thin pair of silver earrings and Gianvito Rossi Dโ€™Orsay suede sandals.

Itโ€™s understood the hands-on parents waited until the end of the school day to leave London, so that they could say one final farewell to their children before embarking on the short trip.
