Prince Harry attends AFL game while the Duchess of Cambridge gives birth

As the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a little Princess in London, Prince Harry cheered on AFL players at a football game in Perth.

While the rest of the world eagerly watched the โ€˜Great Kate Waitโ€™ end, and a little Princess enter into the world, Prince Harry caught a game of AFL in Perth.

Harry watched the West Coast Eagles secure a solid win against the GWS Giants at Subiaco Oval in Perth on Saturday night, waving to the cameras when they took their lenses off the game to catch the Royal sitting in a corporate box.

The West Coast Eagles seemed impressed to see the Royal watching them play at their home ground, tweeting: โ€œEast Perth arenโ€™t the only #Royals in the Eagles family!โ€

Prince Harry, who arrived in Perth on Wednesday after a brief stint back in London, has been training with the Special Air Service Regiment.

And in true Party Prince form, he hasnโ€™t been confining himself to the Army barracks.

Harry was spotted at The Stables, a Perth bar and eatery, on Wednesday night and the owner, Tim McLernon, told 6PR Breakfast they didnโ€™t give the Royal any VIP treatment, because he wouldnโ€™t let them.

โ€œWhen he got there, we showed him those areas but he didnโ€™t want a bar of that. He sort of said โ€˜nah, Iโ€™m not interested in private areas or being fussed over, I just want to sit with everyone elseโ€™ so he grabbed a table and sat down,โ€ he said.

โ€œHe told me how much he loved the food and when he left I saw them in that very Australian way they got the bill, worked out everyoneโ€™s share. He pulled out his own money and threw it in the pot.โ€
