Prince George is set for a life steeped in tradition but he won’t be wearing hand-me-downs. The young Prince of Cambridge is set to get a new christening gown.
More than 30 royal babies past have worn a custom-made lace and white satin gown over 172 years but following the baptism of Lady Louise Windsor in 2004 it was decided the garment was getting a bit worse for wear.
Prince George will be the fourth royal to wear a replica of the original 1841 robe that Prince William, Charles and the Queen all wore as babies.
