They say lightening rarely strikes twice, but that’s exactly what has happened for the Danish royal family as another one of its young members begins his modelling career.
Prince Felix of Denmark, the 19-year-old nephew of Crown Princess Mary, has made his fashionable debut with luxury jeweller Georg Jensen.
Starring in an elegant new campaign for the Danish brand, which holds a royal warrant and regularly provides royals like Mary with jewels, it’s easy to see why Felix is pursuing modelling.
Photos shared to the jeweller’s Instagram show the young prince posing in black sweaters, jackets and shirts as silver chains sparkle at his neck and wrists.

Felix is striking in the images, his fine features in focus beneath a close-cropped hairstyle, but there’s no denying the resemblance between him and fellow model Prince Nikolai, Felix’s elder brother.
The sons of Prince Joachim and his first wife, Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg bear the high cheekbones, piercing eyes and refined features one would expect from their royal lineage.
Combined with their royal status and enviable connections, the princes make glamorous additions to any runway, photoshoot or fashion campaign.
Just look at Nikolai’s long list of modelling projects for proof; since breaking into the fashion world at 18, the royal has worked with the likes of Dior, Burberry and even Vogue magazine in Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
Now it appears that younger brother Felix hopes to follow in his footsteps by pursuing a career in fashion, far from the royal duties he was born into.
Late last year Felix quit his Army’s Lieutenant Training after just two months at the prestigious Gardehus Barracks in Copenhagen for “private” reasons, according to the royal court.

(Image: Getty)But his mother, who was supportive of the move along with Felix’s father Prince Joachim, later revealed that the military training “simply is not for him”.
The news sparked speculation in Denmark, as Nikolai had made a similar move, dropping out of military training to pursue fashion with his parents’ support.
“Nobody had anything against it, but of course I had to explain it to my family. But I always have to, no matter what I do,” he told Vogue Scandinavia of the decision.
“When I started a job in any company or when I started my studies started. I had to explain it to my family. Not in a bad way.”
Now Felix has made his modelling debut and it looks like he plans to continue down the path his elder brother paved for a more unorthodox career and future.

While both young men are princes, their roles in the royal family are limited and as such they have been given the freedom to pursue new opportunities outside of the monarchy.
As the sons of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark’s second son, Nikolai and Felix are unlikely to ever inherit the throne, especially given the heir – Crown Prince Frederik – has four children of his own.
Their place in the royal hierarchy means the 19- and 23-year-old will be able to continue pursuing a future in modelling and we can’t wait to see where they go next.
