Pippa Middleton has allegedly been the victim of a phone hack with thousands of intimate pictures stolen and offered up on the web.

Pippa Middleton has allegedly been the victim of a phone hack with thousands of intimate pictures stolen and offered up on the web.

According to UK newspaper The Sun, around 3,000 images were stolen from the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister’s iCloud and then the culprit tried to sell them online for around $85,000. It said the images included shots of Pippa with her family, including shots of Kate and her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The Sun also reported that among the images were pictures of Pippa’s fiancé, James Matthews, and images of Pippa at a wedding dress fitting ahead of her planned 2017 nuptials.

The photos were offered on WhatsApp to reporters at both The Sun and The Daily Mail by an anonymous seller using the pseudonym “Crafty Cockney”.

Scotland Yard arrested a 35 year-old man on suspicion of the Computer Misuse Act. The man has since been released on bail to return to a South London police station on a date in late November, pending further enquiries.

The revelation comes after Yahoo confirmed a massive attack on its network in late 2014 which affected 500 million users and was likely “state-sponsored”.
