As February 14 rolls around, hopeless romantics around the world load up on red roses and fancy chocolates for Valentine’s Day, and there’s one royal who we suspect will be spoiled rotten.

Duchess Meghan is a big V-Day fan, and even wrote about her love of the holiday on her now defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig.

And judging by her post back then, Prince Harry’s going to need to step up his romantic game!

In the blog post, which was written in 2015, the royal mum-of-one described her ideal day and her preferences in terms of gifts.

“Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss,” she penned, adding, “This is all happening in black and white, of course. And in Paris, if I had my way.”

But Duchess Meghan, who is currently residing in Canada with Prince Harry and their nine-month-old son Archie, said that she doesn’t need the fancy stuff to feel romantic.

“But delusions of Francophile grandeur aside, Valentine’s Day is special wherever you happen to find yourself. And in terms of gifts, be it breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower, it really is the thought that counts,” Meghan wrote.

As for a card or letter, she explained, “If given the option between fingers to keyboard, or pen to paper, I will always choose the latter,” she added.

This Valentine’s Day is only Harry and Meghan’s second as a married couple, something that’s hard to believe, what with everything that’s gone on over the past few years.

It may also be the couple’s first V-Day together since tying the knot, as last year, the red-headed prince was visiting the Bardufoss training base in Norway, while Meghan, who was pregnant with Archie at the time, stayed behind in the UK.

That said, Prince Harry celebrated the romantic day in an unexpected way, when two British servicemen who Harry was visiting, created a makeshift shrine complete with images of Meghan and Harry on their wedding day, candles and music.

“You weirdos,” the Prince joked to the servicemen. “It’s very kind of you to invite me into your private shrine or whatever you want to call it. And the music, is that part of it? Very romantic.”

This year, the couple will no doubt be celebrating in their new North American home following their shock decision to step back from royal life.

Though we doubt the couple will be going out for a flashy night on the town, instead choosing to spend a low-key Valentine’s at home, an insider told PEOPLE that “they are enjoying living a quiet life” at their Vancouver Island home.

“They go for long walks, they do yoga, and Meghan cooks. They are real homebodies who love to chill out with Archie and the dogs,” the source said of Harry and Meghan.

The report also revealed that since stepping back from royal duty, the stress and pressure has been considerably lightened.

“This decision [to leave] had been weighing on them for a long time, and they are relieved to have it done,” a friend of the couple told the publication.

“A weight has been lifted off their shoulders.”
