When it comes to life’s ultimate comforts, there’s no one quite like mum to make everything feel a little bit better.
And for Meghan Markle, it seems no truer words have been spoken as it is revealed the royal made a secret trip to see her mum Doria Ragland in LA before giving birth to her first child – and we all missed it.

According to The Sun, Meghan made a very special visit to see her mum in Los Angeles for a very understandable reason.
A source, who lives a few doors down from Doria’s residence told the publication: “Meghan will always come back to Doria, this will always be her home.
“They are forever in touch, and Meghan has been here to stay on more than one occasion since going public with Harry.”
It is believed Meghan made the visit sometime in November, with royal experts touting it as a strategic stop-off on the return leg of her royal tour to Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji in October 2018.

The Sun also claimed this wasn’t the first time the Duchess has flown to LA under the radar – she also visited her mum’s city shortly after the news broke that she was dating Prince Harry.
At the time, it was claimed that David and Victoria Beckham lent Meghan their Beverly Hills mansion (worth a cool AUD $50 million, might we add) as a hide-out.
With her most recent trip not long ago, it seems Doria is proving to be the ultimate comfort for the 37-year-old as the spotlight remains strongly fixed towards her and her new husband as they prepare to become a family of three.

And while we imagine it might be tough to keep her hush-hush trips a secret once her new baby is born, it’s understood that Doria will also be doing some travel legwork herself, with sources claiming she’ll be joining the royals in Britain over the coming months.
Last year, reports surfaced that Doria was considering moving to Britain to be closer to Meghan and the baby.
And when it was revealed Harry and Meghan would be moving to a new abode, Frorgmore Cottage, it was widely believed the residence was being renovated to include quarters for Doria to stay.

While the reports of Doria’s move to the UK have not yet been confirmed, it is believed Doria will be a “hugely important” presence for Meghan during the first few weeks post-birth.
Royal commentator Victoria Murphy reiterated this crucial role on the Today Show, stating: “I think her mum is going to be hugely important to her in these first few weeks, like all mums are. It’s about supporting the mother as well as helping with the baby.”
“Of course, Meghan knows she can really trust her mum. Her mum is definitely going to be a pivotal figure.”
