Duchess Catherine is known for her slew of heavenly outfits, but very rarely do we get to see a glamorous display of these proportions from the royal fashion icon.
Stepping out at the Queen’s Diplomatic Corps reception on Wednesday, December 11, Kate was radiating glamour in a gorgeous velvet gown… and casually wearing one of her coveted tiaras.
The tiara moment was a highly anticipated one from the Duchess, who certainly made it worth the wait.
Wearing her famous Cambridge Lovers Knot headpiece, Kate drew every eye in the house as she made her way into the reception by car, with a smitten-looking Prince William at her side.
The familiar jewellery item has been worn by Kate four times before now, and was also a favourite of her mother-in-law Princess Diana.
The stunning headpiece is over 100 years old, and was originally commissioned by Queen Mary.
Along with the special tiara, Kate’s velvet navy gown was designed by Alexander McQueen, and featured a V-neckline.
Accessories-wise, the royal opted for stunning diamond drop earrings and a matching glittering necklace. She wore her hair in a sleek up-do.
Suffice to say she nailed the brief!

It also marks a poignant moment for Kate, who donned her brand new sash that symbolises her role as a member of the Royal Victorian Order.
This honour was recently bestowed on her by the Queen, and is often worn by women to this particular event.

Kate would likely have mixed with a number of dignitaries in attendance before and during the dinner served for all guests.
The last time the Duchess attended a reception like this was in June when President Trump was in the UK on an official state visit.
Kate again wore her Lovers Knot tiara for the event, along with a stunning white Alexander McQueen dress.
While coveted tiara moments are fleeting from the Duchess, we can only expect them to become more frequent as she and William continue to prepare for their future roles as King and Queen consort of England.
