Kate and Wills announce their next official engagement

And it's a fun one, too!

Just two weeks after they hosted the christening of their newborn daughter, Princess Charlotte, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have already announced their next engagement.

Whilst dad, Prince William, has been busy attending to his royal duties since the end of his paternity leave in June, this will be only the third time mum, Kate, has attended an engagement since she gave birth to Charlotte on May 2.

And, although it might be a slow and steady return to work, we think Kate will be looking forward to this next one.

The Duke and Duchess are set to attend the America’s Cup World Series for sailing on Sunday, July 26, where they will watch six international teams compete for the cup, after which they will present the winner with the hallowed trophy.

The Duchess, 33, developed a keen interest in sailing after she unknowingly completed an around-the-world yacht trip in her university gap year just weeks after her future husband, Prince William, did – before they’d even met.

After that, Kate competed in several other sailing and rowing competitions, both before and after she’d met William.

In 2014, she famously beat her husband in a friendly sail around a harbour in New Zealand.
