The Queen is reportedly keeping the occasion low-key as she marks her 89th year by celebrating at home with the royal family at Windsor Castle. Taking a rare week off from her royal duties, her Majesty is believed to be spending the day relaxing with Prince Phillip.
Her three sons Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward have all kept their official diaries free too, suggesting they may be coming home to celebrate with their mother.
Meanwhile, punters are favouring the day as one of the most likely dates for Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s second baby to arrive. The British national day of St George’s day, two days later, and ANZAC day on the 25th are also hot favourites with the British public placing bets that the royal baby’s arrival will most likely coincide with one of these significant occasions.
Could William and Catherine welcome a little Princess Alice for the Queen’s birthday?
The date isn’t the only thing that punters have a strong feeling about – if their judgment is anything to go by, the new bub will definitely be a girl, who will have blonde hair, be named Alice and weigh between seven and eight pounds!
Rupert Adams, spokesperson for British betting agency William Hill said, “The latest odds suggest that Catherine will give birth to a baby girl.”
“She will be born on Saturday the 25th, weigh between 7 & 8lbs and be named Alice.
“She will have blonde hair and it will be a proud mum holding her as she is introduced to the world’s media.”
Hmm, that’s certainly very specific… We can’t wait to see if the punters are right!
Even if the new bub doesn’t arrive exactly on the Queen’s birthday, it will no doubt make a very lovely belated birthday present for the monarch and proud great-grandmother!
