Isn’t he lovely? Swedish royals turn out to see Prince Nicolas christened

It was Sweden's tiniest royal's big day on Sunday, and it had quite the turn out indeed!

Princesses were on parade at Drottningholm Palace Church for the christening of Sweden’s newest little Prince, Nicolas, yesterday evening.

Royalty from all walks of life was on hand to see Prince Nicolas, Duke of Ångermanland, christened outside of Stockholm.

The royal tot, who was born on June 15, was swathed in a lace gown that was worn by his sister, Princess Leonore, for the ceremony, and was cradled in the arms of his mother, Princess Madeleine.

Nicolas’ father, Chris O’Neill, and his aunt and uncle, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Carl-Philip were also in attendance, alongside the King and Queen.

After the intimate ceremony, in which uncle Prince Carl-Philip was named godfather, Princess Madeleine stepped outside the church to show off her new bub to the waiting well-wishes.

What a cutie!

The Swedish royal family has released the first official photos from Prince Nicolas’ christening.

In a very 21st Century move, Princess Madeleine shared the beautiful images on her official Facebook page.

We adore this sweet snapshot of little Nicolas with his proud mother and father, Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Christopher O’Neill, and his big sister Princess Leonore.

The four-month-old prince was on his best behaviour, nestled in his mother’s arms.

“We are so happy and thankful that we had such a lovely christening for Nicolas. Leonore had a lot of fun and Nicolas was a bit overwhelmed!” the new mum captioned a photo from the day.

Proud mum Princess Madeleine was radiant in a patterned smock dress with a pink fascinator headpiece, whilst Prince Nicolas wore a traditional christening gown.

Nicolas’ father, Chris O’Neill, was dressed sharply in a suit.

The ceremony was held in Drottningholm Palace Church, outside of Stockholm.

A pregnant Crown Princess Victoria also attended with her husband, Prince Daniel and daughter, Princess Estelle, who looked sweet in her all-white outfit.

Sweden’s newest princess, Princess Sofia, was also there. Looking pretty in pink, she sported a modest pink frock with a blush pink bow headpiece.

Queen Silvia and King Carl Gustav XVI looked the part as proud grandparents on the day.
