Inside the Cambridge’s first Christmas as a family of four

We'll watch George try to tackle his presents as he tries to unwrap them. It's a very different experience at Christmas, having a family of your own.

In the lead up to the Cambridge’s very first Christmas as a family of four, Prince William and his wife, Catherine, have revealed some gorgeous details about their upcoming holidays.

The couple, who are due to celebrate this festive season with their two royal bubs, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, are still in the process of preparing for the big day.

Duchess Catherine was spotted out earlier this week shopping for ‘lights and baubles’ with Prince George, who William described as “bouncing around like a rabbit”.

“George will be bouncing around like a rabbit. If I get any sleep on Christmas Eve, it’ll be good,” Prince William told The Big Issue recently.

“We’ll watch George try to tackle his presents as he tries to unwrap them. It’s a very different experience at Christmas, having a family of your own,” said William.

“It’d be nice if we got a white Christmas because we haven’t had one in many years.”

“[There] will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging. But I’m looking forward to it,” he told Sophia Kichou.

As for his Christmas Day plans, William revealed it will be a traditional affair, “We’ll go to church as a family on Christmas Day, as we always do.”

This church visit, which will presumably take place at St. Mary Magdalene’s Church on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate, will be George’s first – he missed the last one because he was too noisy.

“You would have heard him in the church,” mum Catherine said about her son’s absence last year.

Although the morning of Christmas is due to be a traditional one, all signs are pointing to the rest of the day being a quieter, family-oriented event.

George and Charlotte’s grandmother, Carole, opened up about family Christmases in a recent column, saying that she plans to spend her Christmas helping the littlies with “crafts and baking”.
