And to mark the milestone day on September 9, the Daily Mail reports the 89-year-old will round up her nearest and dearest for a gathering at her Scottish retreat, Balmoral, in Aberdeenshire.

Most notably Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge – who has been keeping a very low profile since the birth of Princess Charlotte in May – will be in attendance.

Catherine will be joined by her husband of four years, Prince William, however The Queen’s oldest son, Prince Charles, won’t be attending.

According to royal insiders the second-in-line to the throne has already committed to an event at his beloved Dumfries House – the sprawling stately home he rescued in 2007.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be with the Queen at Balmoral on September 9. They will attend a family dinner that Her Majesty will give that evening,” an insider explained to the British publication.

In an even more touching move, Queen Elizabeth will use her special day to in fact honour Catherine. The Mail On Sunday claims the 33-year-old will be awarded the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II.

The prestigious accolade is the most revered award female members of the British Royal Family can receive.

Past recipients include The Queen’s daughter Princess Anne and her daughter-in-law, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

It comes as the mother-of-two recently skipped a good friend’s wedding at the last minute. A sign Kate is far more focused on gearing up her royal career and raising her young family.

The Queen will reportedly honour Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge with the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II.
