The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William proudly presented their first child to hundreds of well wishers and media waiting to greet the baby who will one day be king.
Both mum and dad appeared relaxed and said they were “very emotional” as they emerged from St Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing.
Kate said it was “such a special time” for the new parents, as it is for the rest of the world who welcome baby Cambridge.
New parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge introduced their son to the world today.
Baby Cambridge is still without a name.
“Well, he’s got a good pair of lungs on him, that’s for sure,” Prince William said.
Kate passed the baby carefully to William.
“It’s the first time we’ve seen him really so we’re having a proper catch up.”
“He’s got her looks thankfully,” Prince William said.
The family thanked the hospital for their care.
Prince William had been practicing with the baby seat.
Grandparents Carole and Mike Middleton were the Prince’s first visitors.
Grandfather Prince Charles and wife Camilla also popped in to see the baby.
