The Duchess of Cambridge is reportedly preparing to launch her own organic food label.
The Daily Mail reportsCatherine is planning to follow in her father-in-law Prince Charles’ green-thumbed footsteps by creating her own range of wholesome, healthy foods.
The newspaper says Kate is passionate about growing organic vegetables at her country home Amner Hall in Norfolk and plans to grow crops to sell in supermarkets across Britain with all proceeds going directly to charity.
Prince Charles’ label Duchy Originals, which is sold in upmarket supermarket chain Waitrose, sells more than 200 products including biscuits, bacon, jam, beer and ciders. It has donated millions to charity since it was established nearly 20 years ago.
“It’s a concept for now but it will happen – just give it 18 months or so,” the Mail says. “And it’s natural that it should do so. One day Prince William will want to have a profitable business attached to his estate to generate funds – both charitable and otherwise – just like his father does.
“It’s also important for William to promote his home, Norfolk, in the same way that Charles promotes Cornwall with the Duchy range. You can just imagine the labelling – ‘home-grown organic produce from Norfolk, home of Prince William’.”
