They may be back in the UK but Catherine and William are still reminiscing about their time in Australia thanks to their gorgeous family album from the trip.

They may be back at home in Britain but it’s likely that Kate and Wills are still reliving their recent holiday Down Under by poring over their family album from the trip.

While thousands of pictures were taken of the Duke and Duchess and Prince George during their time in Australia and New Zealand, it seems one shot in particular caught Kate’s eye and found a special place in her heart.

New Zealand professional photographer Simon Woolf says that during a chat with Kate she expressed her love for a photo he’d taken of her nine-month-old son.

“She said it was just lovely and that it was her favourite photo of the tour,” he said.

In the picture, Prince George nestles into his mother’s shoulder with a cheeky grin on his face while Prince William stands smiling in the background.

Taken at Government House in Wellington, the photo isn’t just gorgeous but is also a historic record of the future King George’s first-ever royal engagement.

The Duchess was so impressed with the image that Simon decided to gift the couple with a black and white copy of the photo as they left the country.

He also revealed why there was no official royal family photo taken during their tour.

“There was a bit of a plan for a [staged] family photo, but it fell to pieces because they allowed George to sleep for an extra half-hour,” he said.
