Despite her lavish royal life, Catherine is still a country girl at heart, taking time out of her bursting at the seams schedule to enjoy one of her favourite pastimes: hunting.
Lately she and her husband, Prince William, have been hosting an array of parties at the Anmer hall in rural Norfolk, where they also take part in annual shooting events around their royal Grandmother’s Sandringham estate.

A former royal bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, told People magazine that the estate is a perfect place for their hunting rituals.
“It’s a paradise for it,” he explains, “Everything is in place for it and there is privacy and security … It is one of the great shooting estates with the best managers and game keepers.”
Prince George’s mum reportedly spent her 34th birthday at the estate hunting with hubby William, with a source telling US Weekly that she even “bagged a bird.”
The couple also enjoy long days of pheasant shooting followed by lazy dinners with their closest friends,” an insider mentioned to Us Weekly.

While William’s, mother Princess Diana’s wasn’t fond of the pastime, hunting is a royal rite of passage.
And it seems even the royals across the pond such as Sweden’s Prince Carl Phillip and Denmark’s Queen Margarethe enjoy a day in the countryside.
