Kensington Palace has confirmed HRH Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge will be christened on Sunday July 5.

The traditional ceremony will be held St Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham – the same church the late Princess Diana was christened in August 1961.

The Princess will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.

The church ceremony, which is just minutes from William and Kate’s country home Anmer Hall, will likely be a private event, though official photographs will be released so we can coo at all the pictures.

It’s been reported Charlotte will wear the same Honiton lace christening gown that George wore in October 2013.

George was christened in the royal chapel at St James’s Palace, whereas Prince William was baptised in the music room at Buckingham Palace in August 1982 and Prince Harry’s 1984 christening was held at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Princess Charlotte will be just two months old at the time of her christening, which her big brother George was three months old.

Here we remember our favourite pictures of George’s big day.
