Back to work: The Duchess of Cambridge’s first appearance after welcoming Princess Charlotte revealed!

Someone’s got to do it! Duchess Catherine will return to royal duties just four weeks after giving birth to her second child, Princess Charlotte.

The Duchess was afforded only 39 days of maternity leave when she gave birth to Prince George but in what can only be described as an act of extreme kindness, this time around Her Majesty has allowed the mum-of-two 42 days rest.

The Queen’s epic birthday parade, Trooping the Colour, will take place June 13 and the head of the British Monarch has requested the Duchess’ presence.

A source told US OK!: “She [The Queen] thinks a month is more than enough time for Kate to take off before she should return to performing her royal duties.”

“It’s a huge public event, an incredible pageant carried out by the Queen’s personal troops. Kate will be on show for it, dressed up in a smart outfit, with the eyes of the world on her,” the source added.

Newborn Princess Charlotte will unlikely be at the event and her mum will no doubt enlist the help of granny Carole for baby-sitting duties.

It seems Prince George and his sister have hard-working parents to look up to, with their Dad Prince William returning to official royal duties only a few weeks after welcoming his daughter into the world.

Catherine has been spending time bonding with her new daughter at Anmer hall, the Duke and Duchess’ country home, away from the public eye.

The Queen’s birthday parade will mark the first event since the Duchess of Cambridge was last seen presenting Princess Charlotte to the world’s media at London’s Lindo Wing on May 2.

No doubt every eye will be firmly placed on the Duchess, with US Weekly reporting that she has turned to a juice diet to lose the baby weight.

A source told the magazine that green juices are delivered to the Cambridge’s residence regularly.
