The Duke of Westminster passed away from a heart attack in August, with his life being celebrated with a private funeral at the time.
However on Monday, November 28, a public memorial service was held in his honour at the Chester Cathedral in Chester, England.
Over 1400 guests gathered to celebrated the accomplished billionaire, who was a dear friend of the British Royal Family.
Leading the mourners was Prince Charles and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, who attended the event on behalf of The Queen.
Prince William, Duchess Catherine and Princess Eugenie were also in attendance.
The Duke of Westminster’s widow Natalia was joined by her children Lady Tamara, Lady Edwina, Lady Viola and Hugh Grosvenor, who is Prince George’s godfather and the seventh Duke of Westminster.
At the time of The Duke’s death Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge released a statement, saying, “their thoughts are very much with his family this morning” and the Queen sent a private message.
For over four decades, the 64-year-old served in the British Army and is the country’s richest landowner.
After his death, his 25-year-old son Hugh became London’s youngest billionaire after inheriting his vast fortune.
