The Queen is known to be an avid horse fan, having been given her first horse at just four years of age.

The pony – a Shetland – undoubtedly started a lifelong love for the animal, and since then, the monarch has regularly attended horse shows and rather enjoys attending horse racing events.

In fact, she’s been a regular at elite British racing event Royal Ascot for a number of years – and boy do we know it, we can’t get enough of her race day fashion from over the years.

The Queen’s love for horses has definitely been passed down through her children, with daughter Princess Anne becoming the first royal family member to compete in the Olympics.

The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall also followed suit, competing in the 2012 Olympics in Britain’s Eventing team.

And going by the latest pictures of the Queen, we’re pretty sure both Zara and Anne will continue riding long into their senior years as well!
