Queen Elizabeth II makes her first appearance in almost a month

The British monarch has been fighting a worry sickness since early December.

The Queen looked drained as she attended a church service for the year's first public outing.

Following her recent battle with a heavy cold, which struck just before Christmas, Queen Elizabeth II has ventured out on her first public outing in nearly a month on Sunday, January 8.

Accompanied by Prince Philip, and also joined by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Queen attended a service at St. Mary Magdalene church on her Sandringham estate.

The mother-of-two and her prince, both 34, looked lovely and chic in their overcoats, furs and winter attire.

Buckingham Palace confirmed her attendance in an official statement on Sunday morning.

The 90-year-old seemed to be in good spirits with her husband by her side.

Looking very regal in royal blue.

The Palace’s last official statement had fans in a freenzy when they advised last Sunday morning that the Queen would not be attending last week’s service.

“The Queen does not yet feel ready to attend church as she is still recuperating from a heavy cold.”

Thankfully, things seem to be improving for the sprightly 90-year-old.

Putting our worry for her health to rest, the Queen was also joined by Duchess Catherine’s mother Carole Middleton, brother James and sister Pippa, and was also seen smiling and chatting with locals.

Catherine was a vision in her fluffy hat.

Locals were delighted to chat to the couple.

This is the Queen’s first public appearance in almost a month after it was confirmed that she had fallen ill in December.

Cause for concern over the Queen’s health began to rise after she missed her annual Christmas and New Year’s Day church services due to suffering from a heavy cold.

It was the first time she’d missed the Christmas church service since 1988.

As reported by PEOPLE, the last time she attended to her royal duties outside of her home was on December 9, when she hosted the ambassador for Liberia at Buckingham Palace.

This royal appearance also is the 90-year-old royal’s first public outing since the Queen fell victim to a cruel Twitter death hoax, with the BBC UK falsely reporting that “Buckingham Palace announces the death of Queen Elizabeth 11”.

We’re happy to see Her Majesty on the road to recovery!

The Middletons also attended the church service.
