The inseparable Royal sisters touch on dealing with public ‘mockery’ explaining it has reduced them to tears, their close bond with one another, Eugenie’s upcoming wedding and how the pair stay ‘real.’

Explaining the reasoning behind the rare interview, the daughters of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York tell Vogue they felt now was the “right time” to share “their experiences as twentysomething working women and members of the Royal family”.

“We are the first: we are young women trying to build careers and have personal lives, and we’re also princesses and doing all of this in the public eye,” Beatrice told Vogue.

“It’s hard to navigate situations like these because there is no precedent, there is no protocol,” she says of the interview.

“I’m not stressed at all” said Princess Eugenie of her upcoming wedding to fiancé Jack Brooksbank on October 12th.

“It’s very nerve-wracking because you want it to be perfect but then you realise that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters.”

Beatrice said her sister is “amazing”, will be a very modern bride, and is planning on having a plastic free wedding.

Princess Eugenie has never been shy about declaring her love for her future husband.

In the couple’s first-ever joint TV interview conducted at Buckingham Palace, Eugenie and Jack told The One Show’s Matt Baker about the pair’s fateful first encounter, both agreeing it was “love at first sight” after they were introduced by a mutual friend on a skiing holiday to Verbier in 2010.

“This is Jack, we met when I was 20 and he was 24 and fell in love and we have the same passions and drive for life. It’s so nice that we get to share this moment with everyone and you get to meet Jack,” she said.

Their relationship with each other

Beatrice said her sister is “amazing” and will be a very modern bride.

The sister’s bond with each other is legendary, and unsurprisingly the pair told British Vogue they are each other ‘rocks’- but like all sisters, they fall into the occasional fight.

“One of the biggest fights we ever had was about a pair of Converse trainers,” Beatrice cheekily told the mag. “We have the same size feet and both of us had identical pairs. One pair got trashed and the other sister may have swapped them.”

Feeling overwhelmed and facing public ‘mockery’

The sisters say the biggest fight they ever had was over a pair of Converse trainers.

The Royal sisters are more than familiar with than most with the sting of public mockery especially when it comes to their wardrobe choices.

“There was a horrible article that had been written about Beatrice and she got really upset.”

“We were just about to step out and she had a bit of a wobble and cried. I was looking after her.”

“And then about an hour later, I had a wobble and started crying and Bea was there for me.”

Besides having each other, the sisters cope with all the publicity madness by staying “real”.

“It’s so easy to recoil when you see a perfect image, but it’s important that it’s real. We’re real,” Eugenie revealed.

The full interview with Princesses Beatrice And Eugenie will appear in the September 2018 issue of British Vogue.
