She’s been living a lavish royal lifestyle as a foreign Princess for quite a few years, but this year Princess Mary is set to swap her tiara for a floppy hat as she prepares to spend her Christmas down under.
The Danish Royal Family released a statement overnight announcing that Mary and her family, husband Frederik, and children, Christian, ten, Isabella, eight, and twins Josephine and Vincent, four, would be spending the festive season in Australia.
The brief statement didn’t offer any more information about the royal change of scene, but did note that they would be travelling to Mary’s home state of Tasmania for their celebrations.
The last time the family of six was in town was in 2011, when Mary and Fred brought their newborn twins with them for the journey.
Whilst the royal couple were in town, they took the time to visit families who were affected by the Blue Mountains bush fires which took 190 homes.
It is currently unknown whether this trip will run onto an official tour, or whether it is simply a personal family holiday.
