It’s an exciting time for Princess Mary, Prince Frederik and their four children right now as their family grew by one this week – and she’s a real cutie. Introducing the newest member of the Danish royal family, Grace…

The announcement was made via Instagram, alongside two adorable photos of dog Grace including one her outside her new residence, looking right at home.

“Yesterday the Crown Prince family welcomed their new dog Grace at Gråsten Castle,” the caption read. “Grace is a Border Collie and is in family with the family’s former dog Ziggy.”

^ She couldn’t be happier with her new home (luckiest dog in the world really).

The new puppy addition comes almost three months after the family’s other beloved Border Collie, Ziggy, passed away after suffering from a chronic kidney condition. He had been a part of the family for 12 years and was a wedding gift for Mary and Frederick.

^ Ziggy was a loyal family companion since 2005 and often stole the spotlight in many official family photos.

Grace is from the same lines as Ziggy and some royal fans have even made comment about their striking similarities (although they are both Border Collies and related so makes sense they’d share some features).

Welcome to the family Grace, here’s hoping you bring the family lots of joy and new memories.
