Crown Princess Mary is always one to turn heads when it comes to the fashion stakes, but her latest ensemble might be her most special (and indeed the biggest head-turner!) yet.
Stepping out to attend the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito in Japan, the Danish royal stole the show in a stunning floor-length lilac-grey gown – no mean feat given the event was packed with a bunch of glamorous international royal family members.
The beautiful dress featured an embellished neckline and cape-style sleeves. Mary finished her breathtaking look with a floral headpiece.
Seen sitting proudly next to none other than Prince Charles himself, the Princess looked every bit the elegant royal she is.
The ceremony was packed with members of various international royal families.
Another prime fashion-statement-making royal was of course the stunning Queen Letizia of Spain, who wore a bright and colourful floral floor-length dress, accessorised with a pink headband.
So chic!
The enthronement was a milestone event for Japan – in May, Emperor Naruhito ascended the throne when his father, Emporer Akihito abdicated it.
The former Emporer spent 30 years on the Chrysanthemum Throne, and was the first emperor to abdicate in more than 200 years.
As expected, the move was a major talking point in royal circles, and prominent international royals were quick to confirm their attendance at the enthronement ceremony in October.
The royals are making the most of the visit to Japan by attending further engagements – in the evening, many royals were seen stepping out once again for a banquet at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
Royal banquets are no small occasion. Guests usually wear their very best ensembles, which makes for a fashion spectacle that we love to ogle over.
Queen Letizia looked absolutely breathtaking once again for the evening event, wearing a gorgeous pink fitted gown complete with a stunning glittering crown.
Meanwhile, Crown Princess Mary swapped her lilac dress for a gorgeous pink-toned gown, which featured embellished off-shoulder cape detailing.
She also wore a beautiful tiara with the ensemble. Prince Frederik, who was pictured alongside his gorgeous wife, looked like the luckiest man alive!
The gorgeous Queen Maxima of the Netherlands also turned heads in a fiery red-toned ensemble for the banquet event.
Wearing a ruby encrusted crown and black shawl to boot, this regal glamour oozed sophistication.
It is expected that some royals will stay in Japan for another day or so where they will carry out various engagements.
The overseas trip for the royals will no doubt lend itself as an opportunity to strengthen ties between the Asian country, and their own homelands.
Here’s hoping we get a few more gorgeous outfits to feast our eyes on!
