Taking to Instagram, the proud mum revealed the moniker alongside an adorable new photo of the tiny royal tot with her older siblings — Princess Leonore, four, and Prince Nicolas, two.

She captioned the shot: “Leonore and Nicolas welcoming their little sister home.”

The happy family last week expanded their brood by one.

In keeping with royal tradition, Princess Madeleine’s father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, officially announced the name at a specially convened cabinet meeting on the morning of March 12.

The baby’s name holds beautiful significance for the royal family — Josephine is a traditional Bernadotte family name and also happens to be Madeleine’s fourth name and Alice honours the name of Adrienne’s maternal great-grandmother, Alice Sommerlath, Queen Silvia’s mother. Meanwhile, Adrienne is simply a name loved by the proud new parents.

Madeleine, 35, and Chris, 43, welcomed their new little daughter early in the morning on Friday. She weighed 3.4kg and was 50cm long.

“Leonore and Nicolas have their long-awaited sibling,” Chris said in a statement released by the palace. “They can’t wait to meet their new baby sister.”

He also revealed that the new royal baby “looks very much like when Nicolas was born.”

The proud parents shared a first photo just hours after her birth.

Wearing a petal pink button-up cardigan, a ruffled white collar shirt and knitted pants, the new arrival was snapped sleeping soundly for her first official picture.

Madeleine and her family are based in London for baker Chris’ job, but the beloved royal flew back to her native Stockholm for the birth. She gave birth at the Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm, where her son Nicolas was also born. Meanwhile, daughter Leonore was born in New York where the royal duo met and lived for a short period.

The beloved royal recently opened up to People about her hands-on approach to motherhood.

Speaking of her morning routine with her children, she mused, “It’s pretty much like a normal mum.”

“They wake me up and we fix breakfast together and the breakfast flies all over the place!” she said.

“And then we go out to the park and we swing, we try to do a lot of activities because my little Leonore, she has lots of energy, so we have to keep her stimulated and busy.”

Congratulations again to the happy family-of-five!
