While most of the royals have breathed a sigh of relief that the Duchess of Sussex will be a no-show at the coronation on May 6, the Princess of Wales has made it quite clear to the family, including King Charles, that she will never trust Prince Harry either – and neither should they.
“It can’t be overstated how much Kate’s been hurt by Harry and Meghan,” says a well-placed insider. “But she’s also hardened up and she’s not taking any chances now. She doesn’t trust either of them to not spill every confidence for cash in an interview or another book and is genuinely worried that her sentimental father-in-law will get burned again.”
Friends tell Woman’s Day the mum-of-three, 41, is concerned about her husband, Prince William, 40, and their three children – Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, five – which is why she’s had a firm word with the monarch in private.
“Charles always had a soft spot for Harry and will never shut the door on him completely, but Kate doesn’t want him to end up being tabloid fodder just days after he’s been crowned.”
The Princess of Wales and Duke of Sussex allegedly are on shaky ground.

(Image: Getty)According to a new book by royal biographer Robert Jobson, the reason Kate didn’t travel to Scotland to bid farewell to the Queen was because Meghan was insisting on coming, too.
The author claims Charles, 74, asked Kate to stay home, telling William, “If Catherine doesn’t come, Meghan can’t either.”
Sources say Kate was ‘heartbroken not be able to say a proper goodbye to the Queen’ but it’s given her a direct line to the King and a place at the decision-making table.
The feud between the young royals stood in the way of farewelling their grandmother.
