On a cool British evening in March 1990, ears across the globe collectively perked up as news of a new royal baby was announced.
Princess Eugenie of York, the second child, and daughter to Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York had arrived safe and sound – and suffice to say the British royal family have never been the same since.
Along with elder sister Princess Beatrice, Eugenie has become an instantly recognisable member of The Firm – and you don’t have to look far to know why people across the world couldn’t get enough of these sisters at each royal engagement.
With flaming red hair and some, er, bold fashion choices, the sister twosome have remained front and centre of the royal spotlight over the years.
What with those headdresses at their cousin Prince William’s royal wedding in 2011, to their own respective royal weddings in 2018 and 2020 – both of them are a sight to behold.
Now, the latest big update within the York fold is the impending addition of another family member.
Yep, Princess Eugenie is officially expecting a baby with her husband Jack Brooksbank.
Announced by Buckingham Palace in September, alongside a subsequent Instagram update from Eugenie herself, the Princess confirmed: “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021….👶🏻”
Of course, we’ve still got a little while to go before we reach 2021 (though at this rate, it cannot come soon enough).
